Recently, there's been a rash of fake malicious Facebook and Google Emails
You want to be aware of fake “phishing” emails that appear to come from Facebook and other social networks. These include malicious attachments (password reset files) or links to phony spoofed facebook.com.xxx.xxx websites that will steal your login information and prompt you to install additional fake malicious software.
The last few waves of these emails mention "new login system", "Facebook Account Update", and “Facebook Password Reset". We've also seen the Google Mail and PayPal email password phishing scams.
Hopefully your AntiSPAM filter is blocking most of these kinds of emails, but some may get through or as a busines owner, some of your employees may still be clicking on these emails even after they have been flagged as SPAM/[JUNK]/[LIKELY JUNK] etc. As a parent, some of your teens probably are on Facebook and other networks and may be unaware.
Facebook, Google and PayPal will not solicit you to update account information or install updates. When you encounter unsolicited emails, always “think before you click” or simply delete them.
Until next time . . . Happy Marketing!

Ah . . . The good o'l Squeeze VS. The Capture. Sounds like some war game tactical maneuver. In marketing both the Squeeze and the Capture are equally important in growth.
If you've ever caught me on talk radio, a teleseminar or on a marketing panel/discussion, you've heard me talk about how important it is to capture an email address. You've heard me even suggest to music artists to trade a song or ringtone for an email address.
The fine art of Growing Your List!
You've also heard me say that "visitors to your websites don't always purchase something the first time that they visit your site. You've heard me say that it takes on average 7 times before someone even remembers that they saw something about you or your offer before.
Not everyone gets the message the first time they visit your website!
If you've entered your email address in a widget/online or offline form/email box to gain access to additional information of some kind, then you've participated in an email capture system. If you were asked in a reply email to confirm your desire to receive said information, you've now participated in the Double Opt In email capture system.
The greater the perceived value of the information or materials requested, the more successful of an email capture campaign you can expect, especially double opt in. Exclusive information works the best!
Being a marketer graphically challenged in the "creating good looking squeeze pages fast department", you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn about Jeff Long's Instant Capture Page Software.
WOW! This online marketing tool couldn't have come along at a better time for us. Every marketer could use a web based, easier way to create capture pages on the fly!
Jeff’s software puts you in complete control to create capture or squeeze pages for any website on the Internet. Think about it . . Any website, Any Article, Any News Story or Blog on the Internet. You can even create a Squeeze Page if you prefer!
What's the difference between a squeeze page and a capture page?
Not very much. In fact most of the so called online marketing gurus I read use them synonymously.
However, when I think of Squeeze VS. Capture, I think of the following:
A capture page gives the visitor an option to enter their email address or not. Should the visitor not enter their email address, they still can view the subsequent information. Email capture widgets usually advertise some special information, an available book etc. When I use a capture page I make sure that my free offer is appealing and non threatening.
On the other hand, a squeeze page forces or squeezes the visitor to enter their email address. If the visitor doesn't enter their email address, then they Won't see or receive the subsequent information or material. This is usually an exclusive offer. The good o'l exclusive offer squeeze page maneuver.
In both the capture and the squeeze, if your information is perceived valuable, you usually receive a valid email address for your ongoing follow up.
Jeff’s Instant Capture Page software gives you The Power to: in under 40 seconds, create a capture page for Clickbank, Paydotcom, Myspace, Twitter, Google, Yahoo and any other affiliate program or website that you want. AND it integrates with Aweber (Autoresponder). What could be finer?
I cringe to think about how many times I have sent traffic to an affiliate link without the ability to create an offer and capture the visitors email address. Ooooooooh
Thanks Jeff!
Instant Capture Page is as easy as it gets! Jeff is soon adding new features and will raise the price. If you were smart, you'd grab a copy right now.

Since starting this blog, Life Has Happened to me again! You know how it is . . . you have the best intentions to consistently do something, but then . . . Life Happens! That thing that always gets you off track a bit.
How do I know Life Happened? Because when I started this blog, my goal was to write a new marketing entry once a week. I soon went to once a month and now its "can I get something for the quarter?" Don't worry, I didn't turn into a couch potato and give up on marketing.
Fortunately, Life Happening for me just created more work and made me a whole lot Busier.
Life Happening doesn't care who, what, when, where or even how, Life just Happens. (Death Happens a lot the same, but that's a different blog that I hope not to write anytime soon!)
On the creative side of Life Happening, there's been the absorption of marketing knowledge, the hours of learning, there's been the 3 new blogs, EVN (Earwax Video Networks) has moved to a new platform, there's the consulting for the software company, consulting for an incredible area/roof measuring tech company and there's the 4 other project proposals under review. There's the music and social network clients . . . On top of the father, husband, son, brother, friend, HOA president and the myriad of other responsibilities that Happen from Life. But Hey . . . it's got to be done! You shant hear me neither wince nor cry aloud!
Needless to say, I just wanted to give you a brief update on what has really been happening in the Woo World.
One thing's for sure, life is a fabulous teacher! What a learning experience this thing called Life! Oh and I started re-reading Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. (The book literally fell off of the bookshelf at my feet, I took it as a sign.)
Speaking of Thinking and Growing Rich, my software client is really interesting. As a global leader in business and government software solutions i.e. financial, HR, supply chain, ERP, CRM, business intelligence, strategy management etc, they really specialize in process automation and performance management. Their Business Intelligence or BI suite of tools is what really captured my attention and where my focus has been. Being able to control and implement strategy across the enterprise, automate processes, assess risk, monitor and optimize performance with what if modeling, slicing and dicing data in real time with on screen dashboards . . . that's Awesome Power!
So with my new performance management experiences, my marketing "Think and Grow Rich" brainwaves started kicking in on overdrive. . . how to bring more performance management, measuring and monitoring tools to my own online marketing and online/offline sales. How do I automate my operational processes and use some of these same types of tools to improve my businesses? How can I measure performance in real time with alerts to when we're not hitting on all cylinders?
So while Thinking to Grow Richer, I thought that I couldn't be the only one needing these tools and therein set the idea of creating a website dedicated to introducing relevant and affordable online marketing tools. The kind of online marketing tools that bring intelligence and metrics to marketing, automating processes and most of all being affordable for all marketers! I also wanted online marketing tools that newbies could use without having to be Cisco Certified.
For this website, I chose the WordPress platform and used a special search engine optimized template. In understanding the power of WordPress as this open platform content management system, I have been real impressed with the available plugins and templates. I watched these WordPress Tutorial Videos and got started. No one will ever call me a web designer, but I can watch and pause a video while I follow the instructions.
So there you have it. You're now updated with latest adventure of ChuckWoo.com and why there have been few new marketing articles. Blame it on Life Happened! Know that I am working to improve my processes.
Oh Snaps, How could I forget . . . Twitter also happened since starting this blog! Are you following me on Twitter/chuckwoo? We started seeing spikes in our online traffic to all of our media properties by using Twitter. I took in so much knowledge on Twitter and social marketing that I have several Twitter Clients. Tweeting is so much easier and faster than writing 5 paragraph marketing articles. BTW, Hootsuite has been a great Twitter online marketing tool. They have performance measuring tools which will help all Twitter marketers. I don't always agree with Hootsuite's deflated click thru numbers but I understand their attempt to filter bot clicks.
Until next time . . . Happy Marketing!

We've all heard the age old adage, "Treat your business like a business and it will make you money, treat your business like a hobby and it will cost you money." If there is one key element to running a successful business, it's advertising. Without effective advertising, even the best business will have a hard time surviving. Can you imagine IBM or Ford trying to increase market share without a consistent advertising campaign? No CEO would approve a business plan that didn't include consistent marketing.
Given the age we all live in, there's nothing more crucial to the success of your business than advertising on the Internet. Let's face it, the Internet has changed the very face of home-based business. If you have an online business, website or Blog, you must figure out how to market your business to the billions of Internet users. If not, you might as well be building your business in a vacuum.
The unprecedented success of cyberspace relates to four main characteristics - 1) Speed, 2) Reach, 3) Focus, and 4) Cost. Where else can you reach billions of consumers so quickly and for such a small investment? Comparing Internet advertising to conventional means of advertising (TV, Radio, Newspaper) is like comparing a horse drawn buggy to a Ferrari. There really is no comparison.
By advertising on the Web, you can instantly reach people who are actively seeking what you have to offer. People who read the newspaper or watch TV are a passive audience and most consider the advertising to be a nuisance. Even if they were interested, they would need to stop what they're doing to take action (make a phone call or visit a website). On the Internet, all they do is click a link and they're instantly visiting your site.
The Internet offers so many great opportunities for anyone and everyone, as long as you do your homework and think outside the box. Research is Key! Even if you're just starting to ponder an online business venture, remember that consistent advertising on the Internet is crucial to your business' success. Millions of individuals are connected to the Internet at any given time from all around the globe. The web opens up doors and opportunities galore.
Almost every type of business owner advertises on the Internet these days. A perfect example is the amazing success of the low-budget film "The Blair Witch Project" a few years ago. You probably didn't really see this "reality" style horror flick advertised on TV. Instead, the student film makers who came up with the idea thought it would be wise to advertise on the Internet.
They did this by building a website that cost them next to nothing. They then started a Viral Marketing campaign to spread the word. Once the word got out, through movie trailers & clips, everyone jumped on the Blair Witch bandwagon. No matter what you thought of the film, you have to admire the ingenuity behind this low-budget project that made millions of dollars. This is just one example of how strategic advertising on the Internet can be excellent for your business or website success. The success of Blair Witch all happened before the popularity of Blogs, Twitter and YouTube.
One great way to earn serious residual income online is by promoting affiliate sites via your websites and Blog. This way, you have a very low overhead (the affiliate company handles everything from website creation to products to shipping to paying commissions), very low risk, and the opportunity to leverage your time and money to generate serious residual income.
Advertising on the Internet can provide quick & massive growth for any legitimate business including your home based business. Just remember to choose your target audience wisely and focus your advertising on a very specific group. If not, you could waste a huge portion of your marketing budget on the wrong people. Picture someone trying to sell ice cubes to Eskimos.
Take the time to sit down and systematically come up with a game plan (business plan & marketing plan) for your business. (Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail!) Again, it comes down to treating your business like a business. All too often we see people attempting the "Shotgun Approach" of trying everything and focusing on nothing. This is a surefire way to max out your credit card with no guarantee of results.
A word of caution - Any form of advertising you choose should be the direct result of thorough research, careful planning, and due diligence. This time tested method of decision making has led to business success for centuries. Don't let anyone pressure you into anything that you haven't carefully and logically thought out.
The Internet and Viral Marketing can provide a great deal of exposure in record time. If you plan to succeed in your home business, be sure to leverage the speed and power of the Internet to your advantage!
