Since starting this blog, Life Has Happened to me again! You know how it is . . . you have the best intentions to consistently do something, but then . . . Life Happens! That thing that always gets you off track a bit.
How do I know Life Happened? Because when I started this blog, my goal was to write a new marketing entry once a week. I soon went to once a month and now its "can I get something for the quarter?" Don't worry, I didn't turn into a couch potato and give up on marketing.
Fortunately, Life Happening for me just created more work and made me a whole lot Busier.
Life Happening doesn't care who, what, when, where or even how, Life just Happens. (Death Happens a lot the same, but that's a different blog that I hope not to write anytime soon!)
On the creative side of Life Happening, there's been the absorption of marketing knowledge, the hours of learning, there's been the 3 new blogs, EVN (Earwax Video Networks) has moved to a new platform, there's the consulting for the software company, consulting for an incredible area/roof measuring tech company and there's the 4 other project proposals under review. There's the music and social network clients . . . On top of the father, husband, son, brother, friend, HOA president and the myriad of other responsibilities that Happen from Life. But Hey . . . it's got to be done! You shant hear me neither wince nor cry aloud!
Needless to say, I just wanted to give you a brief update on what has really been happening in the Woo World.
One thing's for sure, life is a fabulous teacher! What a learning experience this thing called Life! Oh and I started re-reading Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. (The book literally fell off of the bookshelf at my feet, I took it as a sign.)
Speaking of Thinking and Growing Rich, my software client is really interesting. As a global leader in business and government software solutions i.e. financial, HR, supply chain, ERP, CRM, business intelligence, strategy management etc, they really specialize in process automation and performance management. Their Business Intelligence or BI suite of tools is what really captured my attention and where my focus has been. Being able to control and implement strategy across the enterprise, automate processes, assess risk, monitor and optimize performance with what if modeling, slicing and dicing data in real time with on screen dashboards . . . that's Awesome Power!
So with my new performance management experiences, my marketing "Think and Grow Rich" brainwaves started kicking in on overdrive. . . how to bring more performance management, measuring and monitoring tools to my own online marketing and online/offline sales. How do I automate my operational processes and use some of these same types of tools to improve my businesses? How can I measure performance in real time with alerts to when we're not hitting on all cylinders?
So while Thinking to Grow Richer, I thought that I couldn't be the only one needing these tools and therein set the idea of creating a website dedicated to introducing relevant and affordable online marketing tools. The kind of online marketing tools that bring intelligence and metrics to marketing, automating processes and most of all being affordable for all marketers! I also wanted online marketing tools that newbies could use without having to be Cisco Certified.
For this website, I chose the WordPress platform and used a special search engine optimized template. In understanding the power of WordPress as this open platform content management system, I have been real impressed with the available plugins and templates. I watched these WordPress Tutorial Videos and got started. No one will ever call me a web designer, but I can watch and pause a video while I follow the instructions.
So there you have it. You're now updated with latest adventure of ChuckWoo.com and why there have been few new marketing articles. Blame it on Life Happened! Know that I am working to improve my processes.
Oh Snaps, How could I forget . . . Twitter also happened since starting this blog! Are you following me on Twitter/chuckwoo? We started seeing spikes in our online traffic to all of our media properties by using Twitter. I took in so much knowledge on Twitter and social marketing that I have several Twitter Clients. Tweeting is so much easier and faster than writing 5 paragraph marketing articles. BTW, Hootsuite has been a great Twitter online marketing tool. They have performance measuring tools which will help all Twitter marketers. I don't always agree with Hootsuite's deflated click thru numbers but I understand their attempt to filter bot clicks.
Until next time . . . Happy Marketing!
